Commanded to forgive

We have all heard these common phrases and sayings about forgiveness. “In order to forgive you have to forgive yourself,” “Saying I’m sorry is the same as forgiveness”. Or “forgive and forget.” Some might say that forgiveness is tied to how you feel, and that Forgiveness is a choice.  I happen to believe that forgiveness is a command. What does the bible say?   “Get rid of all bitterness, passion, and anger. No more shouting or insults, no more hateful feelings of any sort. Instead, be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ. (Ephesians 4:31-32)” As a believer we are to commanded to forgive out of obedience. One of the most liberating things you can do for yourself. Walk in your freedom!
